Aziz Voitov resigned as Minister of Agriculture, Kun.uz source reports.
The reason for his departure is not known at this time. This resignation follows the recent increase in farmers' complaints about cotton prices.
Aziz Voitov was born in 1980, graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute (2001) and studied “Business Management” at the Higher Business School (2010).
At the time, Voitov worked as the board chairman of the Industrial and Construction Bank of Uzbekistan (Uzpromstroybank). From March 2020, he started working as the first deputy minister of investments and foreign trade (at that time, Sardor Umrzakov), and since August 2022, he has been working as the minister of agriculture.
Earlier, there were reports on social media that Zoyir Mirzayev, the governor of Tashkent region, is being appointed as the Minister of Agriculture. However, the administration denied the reports stating that this is not true.
