Flexible fares, scheduled to be introduced in the capital’s public transport in April this year, but delayed, will soon be launched.

The date when the new fares will be introduced is not yet known. A source in the industry informed Kun.uz about this.

It is noted that bus and subway users pay 2,000 soums by cash and bank card, and 1,600 soums by transport card. A number of discounts can be obtained by using several types of public transport within 1 hour. If the passenger gets on the bus during this time, he will pay 1,600 soums for the first payment, 400 soums for the second, and the fare for the next ones will be free.

1,600 soums are paid for transferring from the bus to the subway or from the subway to the bus within 1 hour, then 1,000 soums, and 400 soums for the third transfer. For the fourth time, the fare is free.

Please note that these discounts are only valid for ATTO transport card users. You can familiarize yourself with them below:

As can be seen from the above, measures to encourage non-cash payments have been somewhat reduced. Paying with bank cards is equivalent to paying in cash, preferential prices within an hour can be used only by holders of ATTO cards.

It is noted that there are 3 main terms of 1-hour exchange rates. According to it, users of this tariff are allowed to exit the bus only from the front door.

The calculation period starts from the paid time when the passenger gets on the first transport.

In the hourly rate, the preferential price is applied to the use of the subway only once. If the subway is used twice during this time, the calculation period starts again as 60 minutes.

In addition to the above, daily, weekly, monthly and annual tariff plans are also offered. It is possible to make unlimited trips for a specified period of time by paying a certain amount. A 50 percent discount will be given to privileged persons.

Bus fares are as follows:

•  1 day – 6 thousand soums.
•  5 days – 23 thousand soums.
•  7 days – 30 thousand soums.
•  10 days – 47 thousand soums.
•  15 days – 71 thousand soums.
•  20 days – 94 thousand soums.
•  1 month – 140 thousand soums.
•  3 months – 400 thousand soums.
•  6 months – 720 thousand soums.
•  1 year – 1 million 350 thousand soums.

Fares for bus + metro are as follows:

•  1 day – 7 thousand soums.
•  5 days – 32 thousand soums.
•  7 days – 40 thousand soums.
•  10 days – 64 thousand soums.
•  15 days – 97 thousand soums.
•  20 days – 129 thousand soums.
•  1 month – 194 thousand soums.
•  3 months – 550 thousand soums.
•  6 months – 1 million soums.
•  1 year – 1 million 900 thousand soums.

It should be recalled that according to the presidential decision “On measures to reform the public transport system” signed on February 16, it was planned to introduce flexible tariffs for public transport in Tashkent from April 1.

Later, Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhkamov commented on the reason for the delay in introducing tariffs and promised that they will be launched from May 15.

Even in this period, the press service of the Ministry clarified to the Kun.uz reporter that the new practice has not yet been implemented due to the city’s council of deputies.

It should be said that the main goal of the introduction of the new tariff system is to encourage the mobility of the population. That is, if a passenger wants to go to 2-3 destinations, using public transport should be the most convenient option for him. This will reduce the attractiveness of private transport and increase the number of public transport users.

For information, on August 2, the discussion of the draft decision of the governor of Tashkent on the introduction of new and encouraging tariffs was completed. Now the governor is expected to sign the decision. After that, the new tariffs will be applied in practice.
