A number of resignations took place in law enforcement agencies in Fergana region. In particular, the chief policemen of Kokand city and Uzbekistan district, the Rishtan district prosecutor were dismissed.

“There is a reason behind holding this meeting in Fergana. Because today Fergana is the most mentioned region in all directions.

The reason is the deplorable criminal situation in the region,” the head of state said.

Yesterday, it was mentioned that M. Jurayev, who was released from the position of chief policeman of the region, has been engaged in artificial reduction of statistics instead of fighting crime.

In the province, hiding crimes by not registering them has become commonplace.

The head of the Kokand city DIA (Nurilla Sultonov) and his first deputy, the deputy commander of the public order department of Kokand city, the head of the Uzbekistan district DIA (Bakhtiyorjon Najmiddinov) were released from their posts.

Also, the assistant of the regional prosecutor for internal security, the head of the department of control over the implementation of economic legislation of the regional prosecutor’s office, the assistant of the regional prosecutor for juvenile affairs, the prosecutor of Rishtan district (Rustamjon Madaliev) were dismissed.

The Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Security Service were instructed to make a legal assessment of their activities and start investigations.

Also, the prosecutor of Fergana region B. Ismailov was reprimanded for weakening control over law enforcement in internal affairs agencies and subordinates.

Closing the meeting, the President announced that no one would be allowed to work in the old style.

“A total of 31 responsible leaders were dismissed at today’s meeting. From now on, the demand will be very strict.

Henceforth, you will work on the basis of new approaches and for our people, or you will be dismissed and held accountable,” the head of state said.

It was pointed out that regional governors should hold monthly mobile meetings in districts where crime is high and critically review the situation.
