In the first half of 2023, more than 205 thousand foreigners received Russian citizenship. This is 38,200 less than in the same period last year, says the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in its report on the migration situation.
During this period, 9,340 Uzbeks received Russian citizenship. This is the sixth highest indicator among other foreign countries.
According to the stats, citizens of Tajikistan were clear leaders in obtaining Russian citizenship – 87,000, followed by Ukrainians – 39,000, and Armenians – almost 18,000.
Kazakhstan (13,876) and Kyrgyzstan (10,500) concluded the top-5.
