Namangan court sentences young girl to 2 years of house arrest for sharing banned religious materials

Reportedly, the religious material she shared was recorded by her brother who currently works in Russia.

A young girl living in the city of Namangan has been found to have distributed banned religious audio.

She shared fanatical ideas on social networks belonging to a religious organization banned in Uzbekistan.

During the trial, the girl stated that the phone belonged to her brother, who went to work in Russia, and the audio recordings of various religious contents were also recorded by him. She said that she shared the audio not understanding its meaning.
 
The court issued a verdict restricting her liberty for two years. She is prohibited to leave the place of her residence during this period of time.
