Second-hand clothes being imported from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan

More than 50,000 tons of old clothes were exported from Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is increasing the export of old clothes, Tengrinews reported.

It is noted that the volume of used clothing sales in Kazakhstan has increased 60 times in recent years. In 2022, more than 50 thousand tons of used clothes, used shoes and accessories were exported. They are sold in tons, the price of 1 ton is about 2 thousand dollars.

Tajikistan is said to be the main consumer of Kazakh clothes. This country imports 98% of all used clothes, and Uzbekistan buys the rest.

According to customs statistics on import, the main part of second-hand consumer goods to Kazakhstan is imported from European countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Finland and Russia.
