A person wanted internationally for human trafficking and hiding in Malaysia for many years was brought from Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent in cooperation with the Interpol National Central Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The woman took girls to Malaysia by fraudulently promising them a well-paid job abroad, collected the victims’ passports with her partners and forced them to engage in prostitution.
The suspect was apprehended as a result of joint operations between Interpol’s National Central Bureaus in Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur, as well as direct assistance from the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.
Thanks to the coordinated actions, it was possible to capture the wanted woman and keep her in custody until the Malaysian authorities make a decision on her extradition to Uzbekistan.
As a result of the positive consideration of the extradition petition of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan, the wanted woman was handed over to the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan in order to bring her to the city of Tashkent for justice.
