The head of the Chechen government, Muslim Khuchiev, held talks with the regional representative of Uzbekistan Airways. As the agency notes, the main topics of the meeting were the launch of flights in a new direction and the expansion of the geography of the airline's flights to Russia.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached between Uzbekistan Airways and the operator of Grozny Airport Vainakhavia. It is expected that the Tashkent-Grozny flight will be operated twice a week.
The Chechen authorities showed interest in organizing pilgrimage tourism to Uzbekistan last year. Then it was reported that Uzairways would launch regular flights to the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, and also consider organizing flights to other Muslim regions of the Russian Federation.
