At the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, negotiations were held with members of the European Parliament to discuss the prospects for developing trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU.

During the negotiations, measures to extend the status of the country as a beneficiary of the GSP+ system for a new period of 2024-2034 were considered. The EU delegation noted that Uzbekistan has ratified the necessary conventions and has all the grounds to extend the status of beneficiaries of this system.
The parties discussed the process of Uzbekistan’s entry into the World Trade Organization. Representatives of the European Parliament expressed the commitment of the EU leadership to continue close cooperation and providing consulting and technical assistance in this process.
It was noted that the negotiations on the project of the extended partnership and cooperation agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU were successfully completed and finalized. The document is signed after internal procedures, including legal expertise and translation into the national languages of the parties.
Opinions were exchanged on issues of holding bilateral events and exchange of experience. It was agreed on the expediency of organizing the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU subcommittee on trade and investments in Brussels in June of this year, continuing the practice of constant consultations at the level of experts on improving the efficiency of management in the economic sphere.
