In August 2022, 11 men may have raped a minor girl (born in 2006) in Yangarik district, Khorezm region. Blogger Nikita Makarenko reported on this on April 1.
“It seems that a special team should be sent from Tashkent to Khorezm to expose the network of pedophiles. According to my subscriber, people related to the local DIA raped his niece. He did not want his name to be disclosed, but he allowed his phone numbers to be given to the law enforcement agencies in Tashkent,” he wrote.
On April 4, the blogger reported that 3 out of 11 people were arrested, which was helped by the Children’s Ombudsman Aliya Yunusova.
“I thank to the Children’s Ombudsman Aliya Yunusova. He is the only person who responded to this post and wanted to protect the minor rape victim in Khorezm region. Everyone else is silent. He left for Urganch and, as the victim’s aunt said, 3 of the 11 people involved in the rape were arrested today,” Makarenko wrote.
According to the blogger, the girl’s aunt was happy about it and said: “Our happiness has no limits. No one paid attention to us for 8 months”.
“In Uzbekistan, management works manually. In order to initiate a case against 11 pedophiles, this incident must be public, someone must pay attention and deal with the matter personally. Is that good? No, this is a tragedy,” Makarenko added.
So far, there have been no official reports on this incident.
