2,000 tons of liquefied gas will be distributed equally to families in need of social protection in both regions.

LNG sent by Turkmenistan arrived in Uzbekistan by rail on February 19, Hududgaztaminot JSC said.

According to the JSC, half of the liquified gas (1,000 tons) will be distributed among the residents of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the other half – among Khorezm residents.

At the beginning of February, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, signed a decree on providing liquefied gas to Uzbekistan as "friendship and brotherly aid".

Turkmen.news wrote back in January that due to the suspension of natural gas supply last month, the Uzbek side demanded a large amount of monetary compensation from Turkmenistan, but after negotiations, Uzbekistan agreed to receive liquefied gas in the amount of the damage caused. However, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan stated that this report has no basis and is completely untrue.

On February 8, on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the Uzbek side sent 20 Volkswagen Caddy ambulances to Ashgabat.
