Trials of those found guilty of mass riots in Nukus are ongoing.
According to it:
Dauletmurat Tajimuratov (born in 1979) is accused of committing the crimes of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm in group (Article 28, 104 of the Criminal Code), encroachment on the constitutional system of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Article 159 of the Criminal Code), looting by embezzlement (Article 167), legalization of proceeds derived from criminal activities (Article 243) , public riots (Article 244), preparation, storage, distribution or display of materials that threaten public safety and public order (Article 244-1).
Lolagul Kallikhanova (born in 1989), the administrator of the “Makan” internet publication, is accused of committing crimes specified in Articles 28, 104, 159, 244 and 244-1 of the Criminal Code.
Also, 45-year-old Polat Shamshetov, head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is among the defendants. He is accused of committing crimes specified in Article 244-3 of the Criminal Code (violence against a person by using or threatening to use weapons or other objects used as weapons, organization of mass riots committed by extermination, arson, damage or destruction of property, resistance to a representative of authority, as well as active participation in mass riots).
