Uzbekistan, Finland discuss increasing mutual trade, implementing joint investment projects

The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Marja Liivala.

According to the Foreign Ministry, during the talks, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland in the political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of enhancing economic diplomacy and expanding the legal framework of bilateral cooperation through relevant and practically significant documents. Proposals were considered to increase mutual trade and implement joint investment projects.

Mutual interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in the field of education, including expanding interaction between educational institutions by organizing mutual visits, seminars, trainings and other events, as well as establishing contacts between think tanks of the two countries.

There was also an exchange of views on regional issues and cooperation within the framework of the UN, the EU and other multilateral structures.
