The diplomat told the publication that on March 10, the Cotton Campaign coalition announced the end of the boycott of Uzbek cotton, and on March 22, the government of our country, together with the coalition, published a joint statement.
“Uzbekistan produces high-quality cotton, which is a competitive product. We are determined to establish cooperation with European and American brands and expand the export of textile products,” the Uzbek ambassador said.
For the development of the textile industry, a cluster system has been created in Uzbekistan, according to which only spinning enterprises can buy cotton. Thanks to such a system, the number of enterprises that carry out all the processes of the textile industry is increasing: the production of yarn, woven fabric, dyeing and production of finished products. Uzbekistan has almost stopped exporting cotton and is set to expand its exports of high value-added products such as linen and finished products.
In conclusion, the diplomat noted that in order to increase the volume of exports to Japan, it is necessary to establish the production of high-quality products. “That is, cooperation with Japan can raise the level of our country’s industrial sector. Recently, the volume of foreign investment in Uzbekistan has been growing. I think that Japanese companies also have a good opportunity to start a new business in our country. It is also important to find a good partner. Various areas of the economy are developing rapidly in Uzbekistan, there is a rich tourism potential. I invite readers to visit Uzbekistan,” the Ambassador Mukhsinkhodja Abdurakhmonov concluded.
