On May 10, in the city of New York, a Joint Communiqué was signed on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dunyo news agency reported.
On behalf of the governments of the two countries, the document was inked by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov and Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, Inga Rhonda King.
The parties confirmed their interest in strengthening joint work within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. An agreement was reached on maintaining regular contacts on topical issues of the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a British Commonwealth country located in the western Caribbean. The country actively participates in the activities of the UN, in 2020-2021 it was a non-permanent member of the Security Council, and in 2018-2019 – the chairman of ECOSOC.
On March 9, 2022, Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
