Former AIBA President, entrepreneur Gafur Rakhimov has been elected First Vice President of the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan.
An extraordinary conference of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan was held, which approved the new composition of the Executive Committee, UzA reported.
It was noted that Umid Yakubov, acting Secretary General of the International Wrestling Association (IWA), was elected President of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan, Gafur Rakhimov, an experienced specialist, was elected First Vice President, and Ziyovuddin Hojiniyazov was elected Vice President.
For information, Gafur Rakhimov worked as the head of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) from November 2018 to July 2019.
In 2010, he was elected President of the Asian Boxing Confederation. From 2001 to 2012, he worked as Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
