In their speeches, the heads of delegations noted the huge untapped potential for establishing partnerships between the business circles of the two countries, as well as ample opportunities for the implementation of joint projects and the establishment of long-term business relations. These include measures taken in Uzbekistan to support foreign business, protect foreign capital, encourage the development of investment potential of regions and industries, as well as improve the investment climate.
It was noted at the event that the economies of the two countries complement each other in a mutually beneficial way, creating the necessary conditions for further expansion of cooperation in such areas as textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, biomedicine, construction materials and agriculture. To date, major projects in the field of poultry, fisheries, food industry and production of construction materials have been successfully implemented. Over the past five years, the number of enterprises with Iranian capital in Uzbekistan has quadrupled.
Within the framework of the event, presentations were made on the most promising areas of investment attraction, as well as the investment potential of Uzbekistan in priority sectors and ready project proposals.
The forum was also rich in B2B meetings of business circles of the two countries. During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibility of implementing joint investment projects in Uzbekistan.
Following the event, the heads of delegations of the two countries called on the forum participants to work closely and effectively in order to reach concrete agreements of mutual interest. A number of investment agreements and trade agreements worth about $200 million were signed between Iranian and Uzbek businessmen.
