An employee of the SUE “Municipal Assets Management Center” under the Tashkent city khokimiyat, conspired with his three accomplices. He demanded $420,000 from the head of a construction company in exchange for the allocation of 0.3-hectare land along the Tashkent Ring Road, which is in the reserve of the Tashkent district administration, for the construction of multi-storey residential buildings through high-ranking acquaintances.
They were arrested by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes while receiving $42,000 in advance of the requested money.
In Samarkand region, two residents of Urgut district, born in 1997 and 1998, fraudulently agreed to sell a 0.5-hectare land plot to a buyer for $65,000. They were arrested by officers of the regional SSS and the PGO Department when they received $30,000 of the agreed amount in advance.
A resident of Jambay district, born in 1999, was also detained when he received $24,000 in exchange for registering a 0.25-hectare vacant land plot in the khokimiyat’s reserve in agreement with an employee of the district branch of the State Cadaster Chamber.
In Jizzakh region, the head of one of the district branches of the State Cadaster Chamber demanded a bribe in the amount of $6.5 thousand in exchange for assistance in the purchase of 0.38-hectare land, located near the apartment of a local citizen, at auction and registration of cadastral documents.
In the course of an operative event conducted by employees of the regional SSS and the PGO Department, the official was arrested while receiving $6,000 of the requested amount.
On the above facts, criminal proceedings have been instituted under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Currently, an investigation is underway.
