UzAuto Motors has issued another appeal to customers.
“It is well known that the global shortage of semiconductors has affected the entire global automotive industry. And, unfortunately, this has also affected the work of Uzbek producers. The reason is that the shortage of microchips has not bypassed Humax, a manufacturer of GM-certified car radios, which is unique for UzAuto Motors. The Korean manufacturer has sent an official letter stating that it has suspended the supply of the car radio indefinitely. UzAuto Motors has taken the only right decision in practice by other automakers to extend the delivery time of cars, prevent congestion and reduce jobs – to produce cars without a radio,” the statement said.
It was noted that under contracts signed before January 19 this year, Chevrolet Lacetti and Cobalt will be delivered to customers without a radio due to interruptions in the supply of components by Humax.
“To get out of this situation, car buyers without a radio are offered two options:
• Getting your car without a radio in the near future with the manufacturer covering the radio and its installation costs. You will not lose the warranty on the car by installing your favorite type of radio from the market at the official dealers of UzAuto Motors.
• Receiving the car without a radio with a free re-equipment later. Re-equipment of the car after delivery of the radio by the manufacturer.
Earlier, UzAuto Motors announced that the delivery of cars will be delayed for 2 months to customers who are waiting to receive their vehicles in November-December 2021 under the contract.
The company also recalled Nexia, Cobalt and Lacetti cars produced between December 5-17 last year. Allegedly, this is due to the need to check the rear window heating system of cars.
