On December 16, at the World Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent, an Uzbek athlete Akbar Jurayev won a gold medal in the weight category up to 109 kg. He lifted a total of 433 kg (195 kg in the snatch and 238 kg in the clean and jerk).
Our compatriot Ruslan Nurudinov won the silver medal. The third place went to the athlete from Armenia Simon Martirosyan.
It should be noted that Akbar Jurayev also became the owner of small gold medals, lifting the most (195 kg) in the snatch exercise and 238 kg in the clean and jerk.
