FM Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev

According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting it was noted that sending the Commonwealth delegation is a confirmation of the great interest of the CIS partners in the reforms and transformations taking place in Uzbekistan.

CIS observers are informed about the work carried out in the country to improve the electoral legislation, enhance the role of parliament and political parties, and strengthen public control in political processes.

The results of the recently held Summit of the heads of the Commonwealth member states and the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached and promising areas of interaction within the CIS were discussed.

According to the Interim Report of the CIS Observer Mission, published on October 18, 162 CIS observers representing Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, and the CIS Executive Committee have been submitted for accreditation.
