The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis held a joint meeting faction of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and the Committee on Defense and Security.
The results of a study with the participation of officials from relevant ministries and departments for monitoring compliance with the established speed on the roads when moving a vehicle using radars, stationary and portable special equipment were discussed.
The working group, consisting of a group of deputies from the faction of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, reported that this issue was studied and analyzed directly in the context of regions.
According to the working group, in 2018 for 621,355 violations recorded by means of photo and video recorders, fines were imposed in the amount of 208.4 billion soums, in 2019 – 481.8 billion soums for 1,227,844 violations, and in 2020 – 724.6 billion soums on 1,763,691 cases.
Analysis of the data provided by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan shows that most drivers go to court with the intention to appeal against the protocols drawn up for violation of traffic rules for cases of speeding, recorded by special automated photo and video equipment.
Most of these complaints were upheld by the court. So, in 2020, out of 19,134 cases considered in courts on this issue, 89.2%, or 17,073 cases, were satisfied, in 5,778 cases a decision was made to terminate the proceedings. In the 1st quarter of 2021, 3,481 cases of administrative offenses were considered, of which 2,612 or 75% were satisfied.
