University admission quotas approved

Reportedly, from the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year, the state order for training on the basis of state grants will be formed for foreign higher education institutions and their branches, as well as non-governmental higher education institutions operating in Uzbekistan.

In particular:

  •  in branches and non-governmental higher education institutions the state order for training on the basis of the state grant will be formed on the basis of the need of the ministries, departments and local public authorities for the personnel with higher education;
  •  a tripartite agreement (personnel customer-student-higher education institution) will be concluded with applicants who have the highest scores in the entrance exams to branches and non-governmental higher education institutions and wish to work in the customer service system for at least 5 years after graduation;
  •  if applicants with the highest scores in the entrance exams to branches and non-governmental higher education institutions do not wish to sign a contract with the customer, the right to conclude a contract will be given to the next entrant in accordance with the sequence of points earned in the entrance exams;
  •  tuition costs of students admitted to study on the basis of the state order will be covered by the customer at the expense of the funds provided for these purposes in the parameters of the state budget.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, together with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice, within two months will approve the procedure for forming state order parameters for branches and non-governmental higher education institutions.

State order parameters for the 2021/2022 academic year:

a) for the preparation of bachelors:

  • full-time education – 113,530 seats;
  • part-time education – 37,675 seats;
  • evening education – 6,550 seats;

b) for the preparation of masters – 12,900 seats;

c) training of personnel on the basis of state grants in branches and non-governmental higher education institutions – 500 seats.
