The Ministry of National Education and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $100 million memorandum to implement the project.
According to the press service of the MNO, the project is aimed at developing STEM education at schools, particularly in grades 7-11.
“The projects will support and improve existing standards of curricula and textbooks in STEM subjects, as well as ensure training and retraining of teaching staff, purchase of necessary equipment for schools, reconstruction of school buildings, development of educational technologies,” the statement said.
In addition, the project provides for the improvement of the knowledge assessment system for students in Uzbekistan.
The project will be implemented according to the recent state initiatives and the concept of developing the public education system of Uzbekistan by 2030.
