President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on radical improvement of public administration in the field of technical regulation.
The decree instructed to establish the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade on the basis of the Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification.
The Agency for Technical Regulation is the republican body of state administration that implements state policy in the field of technical regulation and metrology and has the right to adopt general binding legal acts within the framework of its competence.
From November 1, 2021, in order to create amenities for importers and ensure the import of high-quality and safe products into the domestic market, Uzbekistan is introducing a procedure for issuing certain types of products with a high level of risk (with the exception of products imported by individuals for their own needs within the limits established by legislative acts) after state registration.
In addition, documents confirming the compliance of these types of products with the requirements of regulatory acts will be included in the customs electronic program at least 15 days before their arrival in the customs territory.
It is allowed to import certain low-risk products into the country with a certificate of conformity (regardless of the validity period) obtained from relevant accredited government bodies of Uzbekistan.
