President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a letter of condolences to Russian leader Vladimir Putin over the school shooting in Kazan on Tuesday.
“I was deeply shocked to learn about the death of children and adults in the tragedy at a school in Kazan.
We strongly condemn this horrific act of violence, which cannot be justified under any circumstances.
I express my sincere condolences to you, the parents and relatives of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the message reads.
According to reports, at least 9 people were killed and 19 injured in a school shooting in Kazan, Tatarstan.
The authorities said a 19-year-old Ilnaz Galyaviev, who graduated from school four years ago, opened fire. He was arrested at the spot on charges of mass murder and will go through a psychiatric examination.
President Rustam Minnikhanov ordered to strengthen security measures in all schools.
May 12 announced a mourning day in the Republic of Tatarstan after the incident in its capital Kazan.
