Uzbekistan has provided Kyrgyzstan with 1,000 tons of wheat seeds and 500 tons of cotton seeds. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Ulugbek Maripov made the announcement during a live broadcast on Facebook.

According to him, if half of the wheat and cotton seeds given by Uzbekistan is a donation, the other half should be returned by the Kyrgyz side in the form of wheat and cotton. Tashkent also donated 10,000 tree seedlings to Bishkek.

“During our business trip to Uzbekistan, the neighboring republic provided us with one thousand tons of wheat seeds. If half of it is given free of charge, the remaining half will be returned in the form of wheat after a certain period of time.

In addition, we are receiving five hundred tons of cotton seeds from Uzbekistan. Half of it is a donation, and we will return the other half in the form of cotton in due course.

We were also given 10,000 tree seedlings. I take this opportunity to thank our Uzbek friends,” said Ulugbek Maripov.

It should be reminded that on March 26-26 Tashkent hosted the next meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic was headed by Prime Minister Ulugbek Maripov.
