To remind, the first case of infection with the British strain of COVID-19 was recorded recently in Uzbekistan. The virus was detected in a 10-year-old girl who returned with her family on a flight to Tashkent from the UAE on January 23. The result of the express test taken from the child at the airport showed the asymptomatic COVID-19, and the repeated test determined the British mutation of the virus.
Soon after, reports about the reintroduction of lockdown in Uzbekistan appeared on social media. The audio that served as proof said the Prime Minister ordered the closure of the borders.
Later, blogger Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev claimed that the voice mail was his, but it was recorded in March 2020, but despite this, some individuals began to disseminate this information online.
According to Nurmat Otabekov, Deputy Head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service, there are no plans to tighten the lockdown in Uzbekistan.
He stressed that if there were any, the Special Republican Commission would definitely announce it.
