Speaking at the Youth Forum in Tashkent, Deputy Minister of Construction Sherzod Khidoyatov said that the master plan of the capital is expected to be ready in the next two years and approved in 2023, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

“Negotiations are underway with the world’s leading design organizations to develop a master plan. We are holding talks with experts from urban design institutes in Estonia, Turkey, Europe and the United States. Currently, we are preparing to hold a competition to select a company that will develop the master plan. In 2022, it will be publicized for public discussion. The master plan of Tashkent is expected to be adopted in 2023,” Khidoyatov said.

Deputy khokim of Tashkent Davron Khidoyatov said at the plenary session of the Senate in October 2019 that the master plan would be ready in 2020.

It should be recalled that in accordance with the presidential decree of August 2018, the khokim of Tashkent had to submit until January 1, 2019, a draft decree approving the concept of the master plan of Tashkent.

In practice, the assignment was not completed on time. The concept, which was scheduled to be submitted by January 1, 2019, was initially announced to be ready in April. And later its submission was postponed to May.
