“In the last decades, the country has undergone dramatic changes: once a republic inside the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan has now become a “small tiger” of Central Asia. It made a demographic and technological leap, becoming a role model of economic growth in its region. This country is a full-fledged actor in the international arena, a solid and reliable partner in investment projects, and a cultural hub on the Silk Road from Asia to Europe,” said the diplomat in an interview with the Dunyo IA.

The Ambassador noted that he sees prospects of cooperation between the countries that “by far exceed today’s achievements.” “I wish to show these perspectives to Ukrainians, help to carry out joint projects,” Doroshenko noted.

According to him, Ukraine defined its European development vector in 2014.

“However, our movement towards Europe and cooperation with Asian countries should not be seen as mutually exclusive. The world is no longer simple, and a geopolitical system is so complex and voluminous that we cannot afford movement in one direction. Having interned in Europe, Ukraine strives not only to maintain traditional political, economic and cultural ties with the countries of Asia, but also to create new, sometimes completely asymmetric formats of interaction,” the Ambassador said.

“The development of relations with Uzbekistan is of special importance for Ukraine,” Doroshenko stressed.
