During the event, Otabek Nurmatov was asked when the coronavirus pandemic would end and whether restrictive measures were useful or not.
“Restrictive measures buy us some time. It may seem that these efforts are in vain, because, according to some individuals, coronavirus will spread anyway. But such views are not true for two reasons,” Nurmat Otabekov said.
Firstly, in the example of China, Taiwan, New Zealand and South Korea, restrictive measures helped contain the infection for quite a long time.
Secondly, the medical system has been able to adapt to new conditions through restrictive measures. It is not just about beds and tests, but also about the concept of virus and research.
For example, within four months, the number of scientific articles about the SARS-Cov-2 virus has increased exponentially, and vast experience in treatment has been accumulated. They are used in the development of hundreds of vaccines and preparations all over the world,” the expert concluded.
