Uzbekhydroenergo announces a tender for construction of three hydroelectric power stations in Kashkadarya region

Uzbekhydroenergo has announced a tender for the design and construction of the Rabat, Chappasoy and Tamshush hydroelectric power stations on the Aksu River, Kashkadarya region, the company said in a statement.

The Government of Uzbekistan received funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of the Sustainable Hydropower project. Part of this funding will be used for the design and construction of these hydroelectric power plants.

Uzbekistan has adopted a program of measures for the further development of hydropower for 2017-2021, according to which the generating capacity of Uzbekhydroenergo should be increased by 13.7 times until 2025 through the construction of new hydropower stations.

The cost of the constructing the Rabat and Chappasoy hydroelectric power stations with a capacity of 11.9 MW is estimated at $80.4 million, and the Tamshush hydroelectric power station (11 MW) – at $33 million.
