Ambassador Sherzod Asadov has been appointed head of the Economic and Environmental Committee of the OSCE Permanent Council this year, the Foreign Ministry press service reported.
The Economic and Environmental Committee oversees a wide range of issues of cooperation and security in the economic and environmental fields in the OSCE area, including anti-corruption issues, energy and food security, transport and logistics, migration, the development of information and communication as well green technologies.
The Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the OSCE, Ambassador Neil Bush, has been appointed Chairperson of the Security Committee, and Ambassador Ivo Shramek, Czech Republic Permanent Representative to the Organization, has been appointed head of the Human Rights Committee.
