The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the company ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia) have signed an agreement on the construction of two power plants with a total capacity of 2250 MW in Uzbekistan. Signing the document took place within the framework of the Central Asian Energy Forum held in Tashkent.
“Agreements have been signed on the basic conditions for construction projects in Uzbekistan on the basis of a public-private partnership of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1250 MW and wind power plants with a capacity of up to 1000 MW,” the press service of the Energy Ministry said.
ACWA Power is an investor, co-owner and operator of a portfolio of companies producing electricity and desalination. The company is present in 11 countries, including the regions of the Middle East, North Africa, South Africa and Southeast Asia.
