In Grozny, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov received an Uzbek delegation headed by the presidential adviser Rustam Kasimov.

The delegation arrived in Chechnya for opening of the largest mosque in Europe.

Ramzan Kadyrov noted that the peoples of the two republics have strong friendly ties, and Chechnya is interested in strengthening and expanding relations.

“We deeply respect Uzbekistan. This Republic has a rich history associated with Islam. It gave the Muslim Ummah many prominent scholars and religious figures, and played an important role in the spread of our religion. Our first president, the hero of Russia Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov studied Islamic sciences in Uzbekistan. Rustam Kasimov conveyed greetings from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He expressed admiration for the positive changes that have taken place in Chechnya. During the meeting, Rustam Kasimov presented me with a very valuable gift – a copy of the most ancient manuscript of the Quran, which is stored in the Muyi Muborak madrasah in Tashkent. I thank our dear guest. I wish further development and prosperity to Uzbekistan,” Kadyrov said.

It should be recalled that the other day, one of the largest mosques in Europe was opened in the Chechen town of Shali. The mosque was designed by Uzbek architects in the spirit of the shrines of Samarkand and Bukhara. According to the architect Abdukakhar Turdiyev, the project was adjusted taking into account the proposals and comments of Ramzan Kadyrov.
