Uzbekistan, Germany discuss launching additional flights

On August 6, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany Nabijon Kasimov met in Berlin with the Secretary of State for Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the Federal Republic of Germany Guido Berman, the press service of the MFA said.

During the negotiations, issues of Uzbek-German interaction in developing transport infrastructure were discussed. The prospects for boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of air, rail and road communications, training of specialists, as well as organizing the participation of German experts in international specialized events held in Uzbekistan were discussed.

Given the significant increase in the flow of tourists, the parties also considered the opening of additional flights between Uzbekistan and Germany on new routes.

In the context of strengthening cooperation in the field of railway transport, it was noted that on the basis of an agreement reached between JSC Uzbekistan Railways and Deutsche Bahn AG, German experts will consult Uzbek partners on improving the railway infrastructure of the country.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the intensification of cooperation between the relevant departments of Uzbekistan and specialized German companies involved in the process of preparing a concept for the development of road infrastructure in the republic, advanced training of specialists and other issues.

The parties also expressed interest in actively cooperating in the modernization of road infrastructure using the best German experience. In this regard, it was agreed to continue bilateral consultations on a regular basis.
