As part of the video project Alter Ego, blogger Kirill Altman had an interview with Komil Allamjonov, director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications. Within the framework of the interview, Allamjonov said that the advertising budget of the TV market in Uzbekistan is very small.

“According to my data, the advertising budget of all TV channels is around $15 million. What is $15 million for 20 TV channels? Each of them spends $1-1.5 million for expenses, maintenance of offices, etc. How can one make a decent content with this fund?” Allamjonov asked.

He also said that when he worked on television channels, different large companies came with promising projects.

“For example, they always asked why we don’t have programs like “Voice”, why we don’t have world branded television series or sitcoms? It all comes down to money. And if this does not pay off, how can you produce high-quality content, make a quality project? That is to say, financial matters play a serious role. Everything is interconnected with each other,” Allamjonov said.

In 2018, it was reported that the average cost of a minute of advertising on national television channels was around 2 million soums.
