Khikmat Abdurakhmanov announced on his Facebook page that he had completed his work as a chairman of the Public Council (PC) under the Tashkent city administration.
“One year has passed. And I would like to announce the completion of the term of my work as the PC chairman. I remain a member of the team. It was an important period in my life, I tried to fulfill this role fairly, to the best of my abilities and experience,” Abdurakhmanov wrote.
He thanked everyone who was not indifferent to the PC activities, actively participated and constructively criticized certain projects, “all this somehow helped us work on ourselves and not give up”.
Abdurakhmanov believes that the influx of new forces and the new team, at the head of the operating system, is important for a young organization. In the coming years, Abdurakhmanov plans to devote himself to an educational project together with like-minded people.
“We could not manage to implement all the projects for various reasons. Nevertheless, we believe that the Public Council will continue its activities. This is necessary for the development of civil society, for the sake of strengthening the dialogue between citizens and the authorities. During the period of 15 months, a lot of effort was invested in solving organizational issues and institutional development. We tried to inform the public about the work being done, receive feedback, analyze the most important events in the city and prepare recommendations based on this,” Abdurakhmanov said.
