The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications invited operators, providers and suppliers of telecommunication equipment of Uzbekistan to submit proposals for the deployment of 5G networks.

The proposal assumes the inclusion of:

• 5G network depot trial;

• proposed 5G equipment, including technology and solution providers, as well as target end-users;

• information on available resources, experience and funding to support the 5G demonstration project in Uzbekistan.

The ministry also accepts proposals for implementing a business model to support the deployment of a use case on a wider scale throughout the country, including agriculture, smart transport, smart city, education, projects for people with disabilities, and more.

In late April, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the Huawei office in China, drew attention to the need to accelerate the introduction of 5G technologies in Uzbekistan.
