Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan in January-May of the current year reached 62,619.3 billion soums and, as compared to the same period last year, increased by 5.9%, the State Statistics Committee reports.
According to the Committee, turnover of large enterprises reached 9,430.1 billion soums (growth rate – 34.7%), small enterprises - 53,189.2 billion soums (growth rate – 2.0%). Of the total turnover of small enterprises, sales of goods in informal trade amounted to 6019.9 billion soums (in comparison with the same period last year decreased by 8.8%).
It can be seen from the figures that, compared to 2018, there was an increase in retail growth in all regions of the republic. Along with this, relatively high growth rates were observed in Khorezm, Bukhara, Syrdarya, and Samarkand regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
In the structure of retail trade turnover, the volume of commodity turnover of large enterprises increased by 34.7% and reached 9,430.1 billion soums, which was 15.1% of total sales.
Retail trade turnover of small enterprises, according to statistical estimations, amounted to 53,189.2 billion soums and, compared to the same period of last year, increased by 2.0%. The share of this sector in the republic in retail trade turnover reached 84.9%.
