In order to increase the traffic volume between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, a new railway station “Surkhanabad” was commissioned.

At the opening ceremony, it was emphasized that this new interstate butt point (ISBP) will play an important role, a kind of "new gate" connecting our countries.

Until today, transit traffic in the southern part of Uzbekistan was carried out through the Boldir station, which is located on the territory of the Republic of Turkmenistan. Now the export-import cargo transportation operations will be serviced at the new station.

It created the conditions for implementation of customs and other types of control on the railway section, crossing the state border.

The new railway station was built by the unitary enterprise “Termiz makhsus kurilish”. 34,000 cubic meters of earthworks were carried out here.

The ISBP “Surkhanabad” plays an important role in increasing the turnover of goods, export-import services between the two countries. At the same time, the station aims to support and develop small business and private entrepreneurship.
