A special application has been launched in Uzbekistan to search for the nearest mosques, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism Development informs.

“In order to create favorable conditions for pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan and comfortable travel of Muslim tourists around the country, the State Committee for Tourism Development together with the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers launched the mobile application “Masjid Finder Uzbekistan” for the Android platform, which will help find the nearest mosque in a given location,” said in a press service.

At the moment, the application works in test mode and stores geotechnical data of 721 mosques in the city of Tashkent, Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.

In the near future, data on mosques throughout Uzbekistan will be added to the application, as well as additional services will be introduced, such as the presence of ablution rooms, the state of the mosque, etc.
