An English newspaper The Sunday Times called Alisher Usmanov, with a fortune of 11.33 billion pounds ($14.72 billion), as one of the richest people in Britain.
Usmanov's wealth over the past year has increased by 783 million pounds ($1.017 billion), as in 2018, he ranks eighth in the list.
As the newspaper notes, last summer Usmanov sold 30% of his share in "Arsenal" football club to American businessman Stanley Kroenke for 550 million pounds ($714.78 million) and earned about 300 million pounds ($389.88 million) on the deal.
The first place was taken by Indian entrepreneurs Sri and Gopi Hinduja. They were able to increase their wealth from 22 billion pounds ($28.5 billion) to 1.356 billion pounds ($1.76 billion) compared with last year.
Jim Ratcliffe, who headed the rating last year, ranks third with 18.15 billion pounds ($23.58 billion).
