The meeting of the Uzbek-Italian intergovernmental working group on trade, economic-industrial cooperation and export credits took place in Italy.
The delegation of the Association “Uztextileindustry” held bilateral meetings with representatives of large textile corporations of Italy.
In particular, with the managing director of BasicNet Enrico Marco prospects for placing orders at enterprises of domestic textile manufacturers under the leading Italian brands - Kappa, K-way and Sebago were discussed.
Following the talks, the Italian side expressed its readiness to consider cooperation with Uzbek textile manufacturers and take part in the International Exhibition of Textile and Fashion Industry in Tashkent this September, as well as organize the display of collections at this event.
With the president of the company Carrera, prospects for the implementation of an investment project to organize the production of finished denim products under the Italian brand were considered. Following the talks, an agreement was reached on the visit of the company's president with his technical group to Uzbekistan at the end of May this year for a detailed discussion of the conditions created here.
The possibility of organizing the production of textiles in Uzbekistan under the Italian brand was discussed with the general manager of the company Agnona. During the negotiations, a company representative expressed readiness to consider the possibility of organizing a brand store in Tashkent with its design studio at the first stage.
With the CEO of Camozzi Group, Cristian Locatelli, who is also Vice President of the Italian Association of Textile Machinery Manufacturers ACIMIT, issues of cooperation in the field of training Uzbek technologists were reviewed. The Italian side said they are ready to cooperate in this direction, and will also present a training program for approval.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached in organizing the production (assembly) of textile equipment with its further localization. The delegation of Italian companies is expected to visit Uzbekistan to discuss the terms of the project, as well as to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.
