Yesterday, May 5, the final meeting of the STC’s senior management with the World Bank experts, dedicated to the results of the tax administration assessment, which was carried out for almost two weeks together with employees of the relevant divisions of the State Tax Committee, took place.
According to the press service of the Committee, the mission was divided into three groups for the implementation of the tasks. The first was directly involved in assessing tax administration, the second in assessing ICT, automating tax systems and ICT needs, the third group carried out work on mapping and reengineering the process.
“During the meeting, the WB experts made a presentation on the preliminary results of the work. Foreign experts noted that the STC has many strengths and advantages, in particular, it has an electronic system which is established at a high level. However, there are drawbacks as well and further work is need to be done on them. These are - improving risk criteria, forecasting capabilities, information gathering and feedback mechanism. It is also necessary to introduce a mechanism of structured standard procedures for identifying and recording participants in the shadow economy,” the press service said.
The head of the World Bank mission said that the final report will be ready by May 20.
