On April 25, 2019, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdualiev met with Metin Oktay, CEO on the issues of Business Development of the Turkish Yıldırım Holding. The MFA reports about it.
During the meeting, issues on realization of the investment project on construction of the first power station on the principles of public-private partnership were discussed.
A project worth $1.2 billion, developed by the assistance of the Uzbek Embassy in Turkey, will be implemented in the Surkhandarya region through foreign direct investments. The thermal power plant’s capacity is 900 MW.
Metin Oktay stated that the company understands the importance of this project and plans to attract the most advanced technology and know-how to build a modern station that meets international environmental standards.
The sides also exchanged views on promising projects in the chemical industry, transport infrastructure, mining and other areas.
According to the embassy of Uzbekistan, Yıldırım Holding is one of the leading companies in Turkey, specialized in energy, transport infrastructure and logistics, chemical and mining industries. It has investment projects with more than 50 companies in Turkey, foreign states, including the USA, Spain, Russia and other countries.
