Uzcard denied rumors about the refusal of bank service to the cardholders of the payment system and accused the employees of “a number of banks” who allegedly campaign in favor of a competitor – the Humo payment system.
“The Single Republican Processing Center (SRPC) reports about dissemination of information in the media that users of plastic cards of the Uzcard interbank payment system were denied banking services, and also employees of a number of banks were campaigning without any grounds in the interest of the Humo payment system,” the message reads.
It should be recalled that a national interbank processing center (NIPC) Humo was established at the Central Bank. Specialists are already working on integration of the terminal network in the country.
Uzcard noted that during introduction of the NIPC, there is a spread of information “from a number of bank representatives that the terminal network of Uzcard will not serve its cardholders due to the transition to servicing the NIPC Humo”.
“In connection with the above, we note that the Uzcard interbank payment system services more than 17 million cards and works in active mode. SRPC performs the functions of a provider and complies with the organizational-technical infrastructure. It is also based on a set of legal norms, regulatory documents, software and technical solutions. According to the requirement of the agreement between the banks and the SRPC for disseminating partners' misinformation, the persons involved will brought to responsibility,” the Uzcard report underlines.
They also added that not a single participant of the Uzcard interbank payment system requested to annul the contract between the SRPC and the bank.
The EOPC has been providing services to 29 banks in Uzbekistan for 15 years. The network of the payment system exceeds 285,000 terminals, more than 1,500 ATMs and 3,000 info-kiosks.
