Yandex has launched a searching service designed specifically for Uzbekistan. Now, residents of the country can search for information, videos and pictures all over the Internet, and only on the Tas-ix networks.

According to search results all over the Internet, the search engine began to mark sites from the Tas-ix zone with a special icon. The company expects users to save traffic in this way. According to the developers, Uzbekistan became the first country for which Yandex has adapted the search in this way.

“Today we are announcing Uzbekistan’s search for Yandex with the ability to search in the Tas-ix zone and understand which site it belongs to,” head of the development department of the Russian company Alexey Shagaev said at a presentation for journalists.

The company has developed a special algorithm that marks the site in Tas-ix. Currently, this list includes 2,500 sites.

Shagayev said that the search for organizations, which is very popular in the country, has also been improved. In addition, localized search hints will allow the users from Uzbekistan to quickly enter queries.

“Moreover, when we work on search, we work on quality, which is evaluated with the help of local users. Now our search quality estimates are more correct and take into account the ratings of local users,” he added.

In addition to searching, Yandex offers Uzbek citizens a whole range of services. Yandex.news, Yandex.mail, Yandex.weather, Yandex.music, Yandex.disc file storage service, machine translation from dozens of languages, a detailed map of Tashkent and several other major cities of the country are available on the portal yandex.uz.
