The prestigious award was presented to Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov on March 28 in Islamabad as part of the third awarding ceremony of the Global Ambassador’s Award, the press service of the MFA reports.

The prize was awarded, as was emphasized, for a marked activation of Pak-Uzbek relations at all levels, primarily for the growth of bilateral trade by 170%. At the same time, the promotion of a new tourist destination for Pakistan, “Ziyorat Tourism” to Uzbekistan, was particularly noted.

The event was organized by the well-known analytical publication on international relations Diplomatic Insight Group, the Pakistan Institute for Peace and Diplomacy and the Pakistan-SCO Friendship Forum.

Traditionally, in addition to the heads of diplomatic missions, successful businessmen and philanthropists who have contributed to the development of international trade, investment, and cultural and humanitarian relations of Pakistan with foreign countries are awarded.

Opening the ceremony, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for foreign affairs of Pakistan Andleeb Abbas noted that ambassadors for the awards were selected based on several criteria, including their role in the development of bilateral and multilateral trade, efforts in initiating effective and non-standard new directions of economic and cultural partnership, as well as polls conducted among the political, socio-political, expert analysis and business circles and media of Pakistan.
