In Uzbekistan, it was proposed to create a unified database of graduates. The initiative was announced at a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Uzbekistan.
The meeting identified trends in the field of education in order to further improve the functioning of the Council, ensure its operational efficiency, increase the effectiveness of the decision-making process in academic circles in the country's regions and improve management productivity.
At the end of the meeting, it was proposed to create a unified database of graduates and digitize relevant documents in electronic form and ensure equal access for all. It also serves as a convenient tool for statistical studies conducted simultaneously by international rating agencies, the Ministry of Higher Education said.
Currently, there is no single database of scientists working at universities, and foreign partners do not have information about Uzbek scientists.
As noted, there are 29,297 professors and teachers at universities, of which 2,023 are doctors of science and professors. The scientific potential in the country is 34.5%.
Using this scientific potential, it will be possible to solve many unresolved issues. It would also be advisable to form a single database and create a passport of scientists with international requirements and standards, the ministry stated.
